Welcome

BSYP is still young (formed in March 2005) and is run by a small committee who take it in turns to organise events and drive BSYP forward (hopefully). If you are interested in getting involved in the organisation or committee please let us know – we are always happy to have more help or ideas on how it works.

The committee aim to meet every six weeks and are keen to hear membership comments whether positive or negative. The organisation is run for members so it should reflect (as far as it is able) what the membership wants.

There will be an Annual General Meeting held around the 1st September each year.

Sponsorship
As we are a non profit making group we are always looking for support to help manage and grow the membership of BSYP. Firms are encouraged to support our various events for which we will be pleased to provide further promotional visibility on this website. Other non member firms may also wish to contribute to and help with our costs since we have and will continue to grow our membership. Please contact any of the committee if this is something in which you are interested

Banking
Membership funds are collected and banked with HSBC. These monies will be used to either pay event costs or other BSYP expenses (but not including any time incurred by the BSYP committee). There will be three signatories on the bank account being the Chairman, Treasurer and Secretary, two of which will be required to sign cheques. There will be no bank cards issued on the account and any internet banking services will be restricted to checking bank balances but not making of payments. There will be no overdraft facility on the account. In the event that BSYP funds exceed £250, the committee will consider opening and placing money on a savings account although BSYP will aim to generate and maintain a float of only £500, the balance being used to subsidise the regular events.

The treasurer will keep detailed records of receipts and expenditure and produce annual accounts which will be made available to the members on request.

Beer festival at the British Legion Club

Thursday 29 July 2010 - Beer festival at the British Legion Club in Windhill, with more information available at: http://www.heb-camra.org.uk/bsbf/. It opens from 6pm, so see you there at 6.30pm, to meet outside before venturing in. It says free admission, but usually you have to pay a nominal sum for your glass, (usually £2 - 5) which is redeemed at the end of the evening if you do not wish to keep it. First drinks for members will be paid for by BSYP. If you can let us know whether you wish to come along, that would be helpful, and then we know who to look out for!
Thanks

Amanda
