There are lots of networking groups in Bishops Stortford
catering to the business community. There are also a lot
of professional firms in the town (and surrounding areas)
with a high number of young staff. We wanted to create something
different which did not represent simply an opportunity to
further business or professional links but which could provide
an environment where new friends could be made in an informal
way. For that reason you are unlikely to find that we meet
and listen to a talk on tax planning or the law of contract
- not of course that these subjects are not highly stimulating!
You are more likely to find that wherever we meet there will
be a bar nearby and we will actively encourage meeting new
faces through the events we hold – such as Quiz nights,
wine tasting, rounders, parties and anything else we (or
you) think of.
BSYP was set up as a local social network of young professionals
working in Bishops Stortford in March 2005. It enables like
minded young professional people to meet socially on a regular
basis in a friendly environment whilst doing different activities.
Whilst it is not our intention, it will also inevitably offer
the opportunity for local professional networking.

Beer festival at the British Legion Club
Thursday 29 July 2010 - Beer festival at the British Legion Club in Windhill, with more information available at: http://www.heb-camra.org.uk/bsbf/. It opens from 6pm, so see you there at 6.30pm, to meet outside before venturing in. It says free admission, but usually you have to pay a nominal sum for your glass, (usually £2 - 5) which is redeemed at the end of the evening if you do not wish to keep it. First drinks for members will be paid for by BSYP. If you can let us know whether you wish to come along, that would be helpful, and then we know who to look out for!
Thanks
